The California Federation of Republican Women, Northern Division accomplishes its goals and objectives through numerous volunteer programs, activities, and events. Our programs are designed to educate our membership and provide outreach activities to our surrounding communities.
Our organizations offer scholarships to deserving men and women and political internships. Through our Lobbyist Advocate we present a proactivist position on identified bills. We provide educational services on elections and current public policy issues, and through our activities, provide training for community leaders and activists.
NORTHERN DIVISION PROGRAMS
Schoolhouse for Reaganism
Northern Division encourages clubs to sponsor a high school student to attend a conference conducted by Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) at the Reagan Ranch and Center in Santa Barbara. There is one conference early in the year and one the latter part of the year. Students hear well-known speakers who reflect Reagan principles. High School students in freshman through senior classes may apply.
Cost to the individual club is around $375 for the students room and board and conference. Students would pay for their own transportation costs, unless a club chooses to include that in the scholarship. An AMTRAK station is near the Ranch Center and shuttle service is provided from the Santa Barbara airport to the hotel and to the Reagan Ranch Center where the meetings are conducted. The seminar is chaperoned. On the application the student would enter the name of the club sponsoring her/him in the "Name on Card" box for credit cards. Students must write a brief essay for YAF application which factors into the final selection process. Only 60 students are accepted. Once a student is selected, then the club would send its check to YAF. The application forms can be downloaded at www.yaf.org
CFRW PROGRAMS and NFRW PROGRAMS that all clubs participate in and CFRW Northern Division Contests and Awards are listed in our MEMBERS section of this website.
